Artificial Superintelligence (ASI)

Artificial superintelligence, or ASI, is machine intelligence that substantially exceeds human cognitive performance across most or virtually all domains.

AGI and superintelligence are not synonyms. An AI could reach broadly human-level general capability without being dramatically smarter than the best humans.

AGI concerns generality. Superintelligence concerns the degree of capability beyond humans.
