Open-Weight AI

Open-weight AI refers to AI models whose trained parameters, or weights, are made available for others to download and run.

Access to model weights can allow researchers and developers to inspect, modify, fine-tune and deploy a model independently.

Open weights should not automatically be treated as synonymous with open-source AI, which may require additional access to training code, data and other components.
